SleepGuardian

Devpost

This project did not submit a demo video on Devpost.

Inspiration

A member of our team mentioned their experience with sleep paralysis, and that's when we came up with the idea to use wearable technology combined with machine learning to help people that suffer from chronic sleep paralysis.

What it does

and what's next for SleepGuardian Our app tracks users' heart rate and detects irregularities/spikes as an indicator of a sleep paralysis episode, and then gently wakes users through their watch's vibration alarm. In the future, we would also like to implement breath tracking and motion sensing to better recognize an episode of sleep paralysis.

How we built it

We built the app using Swift/SwiftUI, Apple WatchKit and Healthkit.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a lot of challenges trying to trigger a vibration on the watch from the phone.
