Project Info
Inspiration
This project is heavily inspired by Jet Lag: The Game, a YouTube channel who plays large-scale playground games such as Tag or Hide and Seek across gigantic maps like Japan or the European Union. Also partly inspired by my own experiences on public transit on vacation in unfamiliar cities.
What it does
Depicts and tracks your location on a Google Maps API; populates landmarks and creates challenges through Google Gemini's API.
How we built it
All of the project was built in Flutter with help from Google Codelabs, Dart documentation, and Gemini.
Challenges we ran into
Initial development of the Google Maps base and location tracking software was quite difficult.
Accomplishments we're proud of
AI location and challenge generating worked out much better than I thought it would.
What we learned
Mobile (Android) development, how to work with APIs, geolocation, async await.
What's next
Multiplayer servers, maps over different regions.
