Inspiration

From my sustainability major and after going on a Recology tour where I got to talk to their workers, thanks to my university, I understood the importance of correctly disposing of your garbage to help it actually get recycled. Therefore with this project, I am to enhance sustainability through Pepsi's global value Chain by promoting Consumer recycling, mainly directed at the youth

What it does

Using image recognition encourages people to recycle more

How we built it

Using Thunkable to create the app by the blocks and including image recognition and the maps API by Google.

Challenges we ran into

My team member left due to other responsibilities, which made it hard for me as I do not have app development experience, and I was more focused on the research part at the beginning, so I had to use thunkable for easier development of the app.

Accomplishments we're proud of

Getting the image recognition to work on the app.

What we learned

How to use APIs on thunkable, a lot about recycling, its importance, the different materials, and how they are recycled.

What's next

Complete the app development part by adding the challenges, and the correct map signaling the correct direction to the correct trash bin.
