Inspiration
In today's competitive job market, companies often find themselves inundated with resumes for a single vacancy. Manually sifting through these applications, even with the help of applicant tracking systems, can be an overwhelming task. Enter ResumeChecker, designed to streamline this process and ensure that quality candidates stand out.
What it does
ResumeChecker is a cutting-edge tool fortified with AI capabilities. Its primary role is to validate that the information provided by applicants is both accurate and verifiable.
How we built it
ResumeChecker combines a React-based frontend with the powerful capabilities of the ChatGPT and GitHub APIs to carry out resume verification. The entire solution is seamlessly hosted on Vercel.
Challenges we ran into
While OpenAi API proved invaluable data, we faced challenges in parsing the JSON it returned post-resume analysis.
Accomplishments we're proud of
Our commendable backend engineers, Yar and Abdu, spearheaded the completion of our project's primary wireframe by the end of the first day. Despite their initial unfamiliarity with the technologies at play, they adapted swiftly and got right to work.
What we learned
The importance of being mindful of rate-limits and the potential costs associated with pay-as-you-go API models.
What's next
Our vision for ResumeChecker extends beyond its current capabilities. We aim to develop a comprehensive service that can seamlessly integrate with existing applicant tracking systems, thereby further aiding HR departments in their quest for the ideal candidate. Moreover, we plan to incorporate additional AI-driven tools to provide deeper insights into the essence of prospective candidates.
