Inspiration

"What do you want to eat tonight?" A timeless question that we seek to answer.

What it does

Using preferences and history, we intelligently suggest places, new and old, that we're sure our users will enjoy.

How we built it

Convex DB and backend using OpenAI, React/JS frontend using Google Maps API.

Challenges we ran into

Convex was a steep learning curve for us. The Google Maps API didn't work with React, so we had to jerry rig some vanilla JS instead.

Accomplishments we're proud of

Being able to efficiently parallelize work in some cases, and work together to get over difficulty working with new technology.

What we learned

Besides all the ideas and technologies we got to explore, we also learned a lot from the really talented students/judges around us.

What's next

Our website cuts corners in a lot of places. We will next flesh this out, improve on our restaurant selection algorithm, and finish our social functionality.

Metric

Figures cover GitHub contributors during the hackathon window. A co-authored commit counts in full for each author, so per-member totals add up to more than the whole-team figures.

AI coding agents

No AI coding agent signals were found in this repository.

Detected from committed agent config files and commit authorship. Absence of a signal is not proof an agent was unused.
