## Devpost submission (written by the team)

### Inspiration

Our inspiration comes from wanting to help the people that face a lack of resources or those in places where mental health is taboo and not as accessible. Different features offered at no cost to users makes it easier for them to gain access to help. Whether it’s a simple breathing exercise or small chats with our companion, Mindly aims to improve quality of life for everyone.

### What it does

The app offers different methods of support for mental health patients. For those in slight distress, it has a meditation timer to help with emotional regulation. It contains a mood journal to jot down daily moods and see patterns overall. Lastly, it contains a chatbot for those needing a listening ear and emotional support.

### How we built it

We built the app using react + vite, utilizing the anthropic and bright data api to power the chatbot.

### Challenges we ran into

The main challenge in the process of building was facing the WiFi outages. This created major delays in editing and integrating the files of our project. In the end, we were about to slowly and steadily make progress toward finishing.

### Accomplishments we're proud of

We’re proud of building an application that helps those in need of mental health support but might not be able to ask for it. Our services are confidential and holistic.

### What we learned

We learned the process of building an end to end app despite setbacks from technology.

### What's next

- Mindly is looking to add more features into our platform. Some ideas include creating an adjacent mobile app for easier access and adding a feature that allows family members to send voice notes to their users to offer support and encouragement.
